(New) Old Pictures / July 10, 1969

Sue French is an interesting character. She grew up in the east end of Bridgeport. One of her first jobs was assembling handguns at Rugers Firearms for 15 years. She now happily drives a school bus. Her father, John French was a pilot at the Sikorsky Airport both before and during the war. Back then it was know by many names. Avon Field, Mollson Field, and Bridgeport Airport. Her father also became a test pilot for Vought, test flying the newly built Corsairs from the factory. After the war John married, had two kids (one Sue) and continued to live in Bridgeport. Apparently on July 10, he went down to the airport to photograph some of those older aircraft he knew from the 40's. Sue was kind enough to give me these photos to share with you all.

And some shots of BuNo: #92460 The aircraft we're currently restoring today.

Note: These are just some quick scans of the originals.
